Hi,

I'm new to these forums.

I've bought the new iPhone SE for a family member and just took delivery today.

I'm a little bit surprised at how tough the home button and power buttons are. I had an iPhone 6S and still have it in my drawer. The buttons on the SE are extremely tough. I was trying to demonstrate that you'd press the power button twice, as it is on my XS, to activate Apple Pay before realising it's actually double tapping home. Double pressing power was very difficult. Double pressing Home feels like I would get RSI if I made a habit of it. If memory serves, I used to do this all the time on the 6S to unlock it quickly.

I noticed during setup there's an option 3 different types of home button response.
The three different options weren't discernible to me at all while setting up the phone for my family member.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Sam

The home button on the SE isn't a mechanical button it's capacitive. You can adjust the "feel" of the click in settings but it will never feel like your old 6S home button. The new home button was introduced with the iPhone 7 and has been around for a while

You realize the home button on the SE (and 7 and 8 series) is just an indent in the glass and it doesn’t actually move right? It’s a capacitive button, you don’t actually need to apply any pressure.

Thanks for clarifying. Will check tomorrow.
Should I expect the power button on the side to be so different to the 6S and my XS?

Thanks

Sam
