I’m going to upgrade from my iPhone SE 2020 and trying to decide if I should stick with the apple theme and get the SE, or get the google pixel 7a? In my opinion, it seems like the 7a has A LOT more to offer than the SE. But I also do use a MacBook Pro and an iPad Pro, so it’s nice to have an apple phone that works with all the other devices. What would your suggestions be in this scenario?

Buy a used Pixel 5a off eBay. Use it as your only phone for a month. Then you'll see if the vanilla Android experience works for you.

If you don't like it. You'll know not to bother with the 7a. As it'll just be a spec bump with the same OS and apps. Resell it on eBay. Maybe taking a $20 loss to learn a lesson.

If you do like it. Again, resell it and get the 7a.

The previous poster has a very good idea as the Pixel 5a is still a very capable device.

However, if you’re truly stuck in the Apple ecosystem and you want to go with a lower tier iPhone like the iPhone SE 2022 you could probably find a 12 Mini for cheaper than you’d pay for a SE 2022 or possibly a 13 Mini for a little bit more. Those are options to consider. Unless you just enjoy the home button and Bezels as there are people who still do. However, if you’re considered a 7a it’s basically “bezel less” with a little thicker bezels than some phones.

I’m rambling, but these are all options.
