I ordered a 2022 3rd gen iPhone SE from Walmart over the weekend and it was just delivered today by Fedex. I noticed that the box felt really light and that the side of the box seemed to be torn. When I got the box open, someone had broken the Apple seal and cut open the box. The phone was gone. Totally panicking right now, I am on the phone with Walmart support but something like this has never happened to me before. I have security cameras outside the house but the Fedex guy left the box in the mailbox, which is a camera blind spot because of a tree in the way.

What do you think my best course of action is? I'm on the phone with Walmart right now, and they said there's nothing they can do.

Probably a chargeback on your credit card.

I called them and they said the charge is pending so they can’t do anything yet. Should I file a claim with FedEx?

I called FedEx and they said they’ve opened an investigation and will hopefully let me know tomorrow.

Wanted to give an update, Fedex never called me back. But I went through the Walmart app and opened a return under "missing parts." It told me to go to the store. When I got there, the cashier called Electronics and a manager over. Electronics said to call Walmart and that they couldn't take it in store. But the manager finally gave me refund when I showed her the return email and barcode that I got. Frighteningly, the guy in Electronics told me that someone from above had warned him not to refund my phone, but that since the manager handled the refund she would be the one responsible. I'm not sure how this store would've been alerted though since my order was shipped from another town and not from the store I went to.
