I can not confirm this rumor, but there’s a confusion about the “iPhone 16E”.
Actually, the letter “E” will be put on the Apple A16 chip.
The A16E (E for Enhanced) is a revision of the A16 that now includes 8GB of ram for Apple Intelligence support.

The A16 chip, as we already know, is being fabricated in the US.
The A16E will be used in the new iPhone SE (2025), in the new iPad (base) (2025) and in every other low budget product update instead of the A18 in order to support Apple Intelligence.

Other products with the A16E may include new home devices.
