No, but then again, I DID hack mine to not require service as AT&T is a money-laundering corporate NSA sell-out. That and I'm roaming where I live and it'd be at least $80 a month regardless of my plan. I wouldn't get them anyway; bring on the unlock!
At any rate, I hope you get it fixed. Never heard of this before. As you did, I'd just do a restore. Beyond that, Apple Support is your friend.
