Is an 5G iPhone 14, running NordVPN and Bitdefender, serving as a WiFi hotspot for my MacBook more secure than buying in a £49 mobile router from Amazon? I understand that this could elicit quite a detailed and technologically in depth response, but just a yes or maybe would do. Much appreciated.

It's easier if you just turn on Mobile Hotspot and then use NordVPN on your Mac. Yes, this setup is still secure. Also, if you are paying for iCloud, you get Apple's web privacy feature.
