I want to set up a recovery account for my Apple ID. iOS says to update my Apple Watch for it. My watch is on the latest watchOS version (8.6)
The problem is that iOS settings shows an outdated version on the Watch (7.6.2) Any idea what I can do?

So, on your Apple Watch itself, you've gone to the Settings app then General > Software Update to verify your Apple Watch is up to date? And when you say iOS settings, are you referring to the same area in the Watch app on the iPhone (Settings > General > Software Update)? And it shows something different? That would be quite bizarre. If so, I'd try unpairing your Apple Watch and re-pairing it. If that doesn't solve it, then just tell it to update it anyway if it says it needs to be updated and see what happens.
