I've read other topics on this, and it seems Apple issues replacements. However, my nearest store is Glasgow (2 hours worth of travelling). Does the actual phone shop I got it from deal with things like this?

I got it from the Carphone Warehouse. Would they, or O2 be able to issue a replacement? Or would I have to trek to Glasgow?

Also, what's the best way to take all my stuff off the phone? When the sim card is taken out, is anything accessible on the phone? My email, contacts etc?

First, just call O2, they will connect you to Apple Care, and arrange to send you a new phone, that way you don't have to drive.

Second, all your information is stored on the phone and also your computer, both in software, and in a backup file. When you get the replacement, trade SIM cards (Apple does not use the SIM card for data storage, but you need it for your account to work) then connect the new phone to your computer and restore it with the backup (iTunes will prompt). On the old phone, open Settings->General->Reset->Erase All Content and Settings, then send the old phone back... and Bob's your uncle.

Here in belgium you just have to live without your iphone for 2 weeks...

I'll pop in to the shop tomorrow anyway (Carephone Warehouse) as I'm passing through. You reckon I'll be able to keep using my current iPhone if they have to mail me a replacement?

Thanks for reply!
