I'm new at this forum stuff so please bear with me. I want to upgrade to an Iphone 4s but still be able to take the sim card and continue to use it in my
3gs whenever I want to and have full capability in both phones. I have the adapter but the phone people at my store say that the data would not work on the 3gs with the 4s sim installed. They say the phone would make calls fine in either phone. Something about a code that is assigned each different phone being unique. Does this make sense to you guys and would there be a way around this?
thanks

Depends on the carrier.
I use AT&T and swap sim in and out of 3 different iPhones.
Voice and data always work.

I use ATT also. My account is thru my local phone company but it is ATT network. My bill just comes from my phone company. If you do this looks like I could as well. Thanks for responding.

Mobile virtual network operator, in other words a major carrier's cheaper network.

Ex. T-Mobile and SimpleMobile

Ok, thanks for the info. My phone company uses ATT's logo and sales brouchures so I'm thinking that they are not a mvno?

Some mvno companies run off the major carrier's towers as well.
I think I will ask my phone company about this again. I think they are getting aggravated with me about this. Thanks again for the info.
