So you pretty much copied the Gizmodo post onto your own blog and posted both links for reference?

Lame.

You could at least give Gizmodo a link on the post in your blog so people know where you got the information and post from.

The photograph came from Flickr, not Gizmodo. I linked Gizmodo in my post because they were the first ones to post the story, but I found the photo on Flickr. It's the first one to come up when you search iPhone.

Since the train runs from San Francisco to San Jose...could have been a Apple corporate employee heading up to WWDC for the day.

I find it hard to believe that Apple would let its employees use the iPhone in public.

another iPhone in the Wild

An apple developer was at Pat O'Brien's at CityWalk at Universal Studios in Orlando last night. He was with a girl, and they seemed to be relaxing, drinking hurricanes and listening to music, But the thing that struck me immediately was that he had an iPhone sitting on the table. When he went up to request a song, one of the piano players noticed him holding it in his hand and asked him if it was an iPhone, and the guy told him it was. The only reason why I know for sure that he was a developer is because I asked the piano player what he had said to him, because I noticed it too.

He was really chill about having it on the table, and I even saw him checking his email. I have a crappy phone (that I will be replacing with an iPhone on the 29th) that doesn't have a camera, but it sure was cool to see one. It really looked good. Everything he was doing looked like it was running with no latency at all!!

Just thought I would pass it along, it certainly made my night!!

should have asked to see it

What makes you say that? It looks an awful lot like the iPhone to me. Even has the white ibuds with it.

1) Where would he get it from.
2) Apple wouldn't let him (if he was staff) to take it out in public
3) How would someone take a picture of the iPhone in that angle.

So I guess Apple is letting its employees carry them around. I hope none of them get mugged!

At this stage, it seems a lot more likely to be an Apple employee testing the product in the wild (and maybe even doing some guerilla marketing of the product) than an AT&T store employee hooking up their friend, especially given the fact we don't have reports of AT&T stores (or Apple stores for that matter) receiving their shipments yet.

I think it's funny that iPhone sightings are being treated like UFO or Big Foot sightings. People claim what they see and then there are a gazillion people who say fake. Who cares if he did or didn't have one. The only thing that I care about is when I can get my hands on mine!

Well, if the photo is legit and the guy doesn't work for Apple, I'd sure like to find out who he is and how he got an iPhone, so I can get one for myself!

I couldn't agree with you more.

Damn. I was just there last week.

I need to pay more attention when I'm down there next time. Guess I was too busy in Margaritaville.

I also saw one yesterday, but it is totally secret, I was in an elevator and then in a conference center and there it was, some random guy holding it...:D
