Forgive the double-post, but it was recommended that I post here instead of modifications.

I'd like to replace the Opaque Black status bar on my iPhone with the gray one at all times. I found instructions on editing Info.plist inside Springboard.app on the web, but when I change UIStatusBarStyleBlackOpaque to UIStatusBarStyleDefault, the status bar disappears entirely.

Why is the status bar disappearing? What am I doing wrong, or what am I not doing? Or if there's an easier way that I'm missing, please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, I'm a newb btw, so please be detailed in your response. Thanks again!

This is something you'd want to use Winterboard for. It's generally not a good idea to edit core files if you don't have _at least_ a decent understanding of what exactly it is you're doing.

I agree with the above poster, but if you must...

Why are you messing with plists? Just replace the old default .png with your new one (named the same way).

Back up the default one.
