iphone stop downloading?

ok so like the title says. can someone tell me what i need to do so that my iphone will continue to download large files? here is my problem i download alot of movies everyday on my current phone. when i download them on my current phone the files continue to download even when my phone is off. or should i say my screen is off. but it seems with my iphone the downloads stops mins after the screen is shut off. most of the time im downloading more than 1 movie at a time so the files can take as much as 1-2 hours. is there a setting i am missing so that my iphone will not stop while the screen is off? hopefully someone has an answer because this is a dealbreaker for me.

no particular app i just use the web browser and i mostly use links from rapidgator or uploaded because i have an unlimited download account with thoes 2 sites. on my current phone i just copy and paste the link i am given and download starts once it starts i can turn my phone-off and the download will continue. in about 10-45mins the download is usually done and i can watch the movie.

And that phone being what exactly, something other than an iPhone?

correct it is not an iphone. but does that really matter? shouldn't the iphone that cost way more than my old phone be able to do what my old phone does? my old phone is really old it's a galaxy s3.

Well the differences certainly matter. It's not about the cost or how old something is but what the OS and the apps that run on it allow for. Android and iOS are different in various respects, and this is one of them. Your best bet would likely be to find some downloaded app to use for this kind of thing (one that could perhaps keep downloads going until they are done in some fashion, like perhaps by keeping the phone on, or something similar to that).

ahh ok i see i take it you don't know of such app? either way i thank you for your time and trying to help me solve this 1 big issues for me. maybe someone eles will chime in about my problem. thanks again for your help.
