Hey all,

So last saturday I decided to get an iPhone 16GB Black with a Macally silicon case ( awesome thing ).

I have been having an absolute blast with the iPhone, its amazing just amazing!

This morning as I was playing around with it I noticed right in the center a white stuck pixel and now I can't help but look at it :( .

I don't know if I can take it back or not. I bought it from Movistar ( there are no apple stores in Spain you have to buy the phone from the chosen service provider ).

I know it's only 1 pixel but its in the center and its white.

:(

I have one blue pixel that used to show up from time to time. I just press on the spot kinda hard and almost smooth it away. Not until I just read this thread have I thought about it, after smoothing it out I haven't seen in in like 2 months.

Mine fortunately does not have any stuck or dead pixels. Although I have had to deal with displays that have problems like it and it is not too much fun.

My iPod Touch had like 6 stuck pixels, mostly red and white, drove me crazy, now my iPhone doesn't have any. Awesome! But my iMac has one red one right in the middle.

negative for me.

im actually surprised that there's not an application out there yet that flashes between all colors. which is a trick used to potentially fix 'stuck' pixels. but i think there is a .mov video file formatted for iphones floating around somewhere that does exactly that.

I had a piece of dirt or link or something under the screen of my launch ipod touch. I thought it was a dead pixel at first, but I noticed it moving, if i shook it enough it pushed it out of the way of the screen. Thankfully I haven't seen it since.

I've had a few appear in the last week. They come and go but are very irritating!

Hey back again!

So I ran this http://www.ebaspace.com/iphone-app/#_home for about 1 hour, iPhone got really hot. Unfortunately it didn't fix it. I also tried applying pressure/tapping doesn't work either.

I called my service provider and they told me that I should take it to the place I bought it and from there they would contact Apple, it would either get fixed or they would give me a new one.

The thing I fear is if they just send me a refurb in a worse state.

Im kind of a neat freak and my iPhone gets cleaned every day along with the iMac.

Damn stuck pixel its brining me down, I know its sad!

The only option for you might be to take it to the Apple Store, and give you a replacement.

For me, when I had my iPhone replaced (DROPPED IT BY ACCIDENT, the Genius was very kind, and gave me a new one, no questions asked, I even told them that it was my fault, and yet they just gave me a new phone) They brought out the WHITE BOX OF MAGIC, and out was the new iPhone 3G, all BRAND NEW, and ready to go!

So, most likely, they will have the WHITE BOX OF MAGIC at your local Apple Store, and they will probably give you a new, shiny iPhone as replacement. (I had my old one coated with Invisible Shield, so it was basically still in new condition)

it doesnt get any better either. I noticed it day one and I see it everyday. Oh well.

(crosspost, sorry, felt it was relavant)

I had a piece of dust appear after 4 months under my display on my 3G, and Apple swapped it for a refurb. The refurb had a dead pixel in the middle of the screen that I noticed during the first week of use, and they swapped that one out as well. I'm happy so far with my third 3G.

I keep getting a stuck pixel on mine too. I've had it since November and since it was a gift, I don't have a warranty on it or anything. I run the little program that I found that flashes the colors (I can't look at it when it does that, gives me the worst migraine!) After I run that thing the pixel goes away for a little bit and then comes back. Since I don't think they will give me a replacement without a warranty, am I just supposed to keep running that program?

I have not one, but 3 whole horizontal lines of seemingly intermittent stuck pixels, right at the top of the phone.

I bought my iPhone (original) 8 GB on eBay a year ago, and everything was fine until 5 or 6 months ago. At first, it was just a few stuck pixels that would randomly appear just over the battery icon. But the number of stuck pixels got worse and worse. Now, the top 3 lines are intermittently stuck.

I've tried that ebaspace.com page (running it for about an hour in landscape mode), tried buying an app called Pixelmetrist, and even tried someone's suggestion of running the NES emulator with Mario Bros. on for an hour or so.

Nothing works.

I use my phone (unlocked) with T-Mobile, and I don't know if the original buyer had gotten Apple Care. So if I take it to an Apple Store genius, will they be willing to help me?

They'll probably take you out back and hang you from a yardarm until you unJB and join the AT&T team.....:p:p:p

NOOOOOO!! I'll never join you! :p

Seriously though. I refuse to pay anywhere near $70/mo for phone service. Hell, I barely talk on the phone at all. $100 prepaid airtime lasts me over 4 months. It would be nice to have a data plan, though, and the GPS functions on the newer phones must be nice, too.

I have no dead pixels, but if you do.. there are jailbroken apps on Cydia that can find/fix dead pixels. (Doesn't always work, but it fixed a few on my 3G)

It might be better off getting the iPhone 3GS, if it's the first gen phone.
Also, get AT&T, even though it's the worst network ever, but running iPhone on other network, AT&T can KILL your phone via remote wipe, and ask you for the phone back. (yes, they will want the phone back)
