iphone stuck on loading screen

friends iphone is stuck on loading screen after clearing all data and settings
the phone was/might have been jail broken
when its in dfu mode its not recognized by itunes
using pwnage tool its not going into dfu mode

so phone was reset on the all data and settings function
it was jailbroken

now its not recognized by itunes or macbook

Did your friend change the boot logos when he jailbroke? If not, you should be able to take it into apple and they won't be able to tell it was ever jailbroken. If they did change the boot logos, look in this thread. There were countless suggestions on how to help someone with a similar problem
