I am ready to THROW my iphone against the wall.

Please help!!

I am syncing in itunes and every time no matter WHAT I do, I lose my audiobooks. I download audiobooks from library and sometimes my license expires before I have finished listening to the book.

If I sync to add new music, my audiobook is deleted without me even getting a warning from itunes. even if I go through and uncheck the audiobook folder prior to syncing.

In addition, I have some LAME podcast that I would LIKE to delete. I went through every podcast and tv show and checked only the ones I wanted to keep.

so what happens... the audiobook FREAKING GONE, the lame podcast??? Oh, THOSE are still there!!

What am I doing wrong when setting up for sync?

Can you sync with unlicensed audiobook and itunes NOT automatically delete?

no I plug in my iphone and wait for itunes to detect my iphone, I already have my settings set to sync manually.

I uncheck the audio books in under my iphone device. I check "sync music" then under the music menu I uncheck audiobooks twice because for some reason i have audiobooks under the playlist 2 times... icons look different... one looks like a book, the other looks like a blue folder. I uncheck BOTH.

I pretty much want to add music .... sync without changing my audiobooks.

I don't sync manually, but all I know is that if I uncheck a box and sync, then it deletes the stuff that was unchecked. I had a hell of a time figuring out what was happening when I first started using the iPhone to sync with iTunes. Perhaps something similar is occurring for you?

hmm
maybe that is the problem.

I am thinkinng if I don't check, then the phone will leave it be. Maybe I should keep it checked and it will leave it be.

I dunno. Confused.

There is another thread in the iPad forum, but here is my copied post.

Any books with a .aa(Audible) or .M4B(iTunes, Audiobook Builder) extension must be managed through the books tab now. Even if you have playlist set up under your music tab and select the playlist to sync it won't sync unless the same playlist is selected under the books tab. Quite lame! It caused me a lot of headaches. When Apple changes something like this, they should have a little pop up come up when you try to sync an audiobook stating this change.

I would like to have the last few hours of my life back. If Jobs is really God, then that shouldn't be a problem.
