I'm having a lot of battery draining trouble so I'd like to try a system restore before bringing the phone in to Apple. Thing is I've kind of tricked AT&T into giving me a regular phone contract instead of the iphone/data plane one. The SIM in question was originally activated in the iPhone then reactivated in a Razr after I told them I was taking the iPhone back. Question is, will a system restore reactivate my SIM and make the phone realize its not on an iPhone plan? Thanks!

You should be OK on that front- it is my understanding that the restore rewrites firmware, and nothing to the SIM.

HOWEVER- be aware that ATT already knows. They can tell you are using an iPhone very easily. I called T-Mobile tech, and they said, "Oh, I see you have an iPhone- how do you like it?"

Just for the heck of it, I just logged into my T-Mo online account. It SHOULD show my phone as a RAZR- I never set that origionally, and it was there when I first logged in.

Anyway, I just checked- the RAZR is gone, and a "ghost" phone is there. Does not look like I can set "iPhone" as my phone.... it wants me to pick a Blackberry!
