Hi guys, i was thinking the other day, iStat is brilliant lil app for general stuff, i can see whats going on in quite good detail using my iphone via wi-fi. However iStat doesnt display temperature. Is there a known app that can do this? Or you reckon its gonna happen in a new version of istat. if ever?

Second less important, n possibly less likely question/request. Any iphone apps that can take control of Mac OSX via wi-fi.. secure obviously n whatnot :)

as for temperature...that would require some sort of internal thermometer/temperature probe, which I don't believe it has. So that's probably not gonna happen with the current hardware

and to control osx, several apps exist, depending on what you need and what you'll spend. Just one example is an app called air mouse

He is asking for an app that displays iStats temp. It shows the temp but doesn't show up on the app on the iPhone.

It must have a thermometer.

However iStat doesnt display temperature.

It only displays the temperatures of mac's not of the iPhone itself.

I think Apple will build these temperature/humidity sensors into the next iPhone. Their're small and cheap (like the compass):

Do you guy's think they can fit this inside an iPhone LTE?

He is asking to view the temp on his computer not his iPhone. The iStat app for the iPhone monitors your computer. It doesn't display the temp of the COMPUTER.

Is this what you're looking for? I'm using iStat Server on my PowerMac G5 and am able to get the temps to show up on the iPhone app. When I restart the computer the temps won't show up for quite a while, but eventually they do.

I believe the OP is asking for the temps of the iPhone to show, not a computer with iStat.

Please tell me you actually emailed the iStat devs and asked them this question.

Nope. Should I?? :p.

Regarding some queries on my temperature app. I was originally enquiring about viewing my macs temperature. I have istat on my phone. And the server and widget versions on both my macs. I haven't had a proper poke around in the preferences on server. I have poked about a bit on my istat-phone version. Nothing tht I could see. I will have a check tonight however. Is it a display in the iPhone I need to turn on or the computers? Cheers for all the help on this one chaps/esses
:)

EDIT: ok then, so i looked into the istat app on the iPhone, it has temperature display capabilities, but from some posts on here, and elsewhere it doesnt seem to have a thermometer, or a sensor to measure the temps etc.. I have tried using the istat server to look at my macs temperatures n that. and that seems to work. Im assuming the reverse wouldnt work neither-looking at the iphones temperature on my macbook pro or mini? One can hope, the usefullness of such a hardware addition would be quite cool ;-)
