I bought an unlocked iphone in asia, coming to the USA using T-Mobile service for about two months. I then updated my phone to 2.1 on itunes, not knowing it would lock up my iphone.
Now the phone is completely locked, i cannot access it all. How can I get around this?
What's the best way to unlock my phone? is there a certain software that deals with this problem?

thanks

I like Quickpwn works good and is very easy to use.

google "Quickpwn guide" you will find several guides for the process it's very easy.

If it is officially unlocked by Apple, then it should work on any network...try to reisntall the new FW in DFU mode.
if it is not really unlocked, then the only way is to use a turbo sim, there is no software unlocking tool for 3G.

Just to clarify, it is a first-gen iPhone... And what is a turbo sim? Sorry for my ignorance... I'm new to this unlocking concept.
