Hello Everyone,

I am new to this Forum and my Iphone has a serious problem the top part (first row of apps) of the touch screen only works when i hold it there for like 30 sec. or put added pressure and sometimes still does not respond to the touch I have reseted, restored and even upgraded the firmware and still nothing my iphone has no cracks only one ding on the back but i don't think that is the problem please I need help Thanks.

O ye of little grammatical ability.... :p

Why are you so sure that you don't have damage to the touchscreen (either because it was dropped or because of a manufacturing defect)? The screen doesn't have to look cracked for it to fail to recognize touches in certain parts. If you're pretty sure you didn't do it by dropping it, you might as well try taking it to an Apple Store and plying them for a replacement. They're pretty friendly about it. If they decide not to cover it because it looks like you dropped it, then they'll tell you how much a repair or replacement would cost you.

But it's probably not a software issue.

I actually got the Iphone from ebay and the person told me it wasn't a hardware issue so I'm really not sure I can post pictures if that helps it's just really annoying and everything else on the touch screen works perfectly except for the top row The iphone is actually unlocked and jailbroken and I have at&t just don't want to pay for the data plan so what do you think they will say if I take it to apple as a restored iphone will they ask for my account details?

So do you think can go to apple and pay for the repair and they won't ask anything like where's your sim card? btw how much does it cost to fix the touch screen?

Also the touch does work on the top part of the touch screen it just takes a while for it to process the touch so what does that mean?
