iPhone track pad ap?

So, I was wondering if anyone knows if this has been developed, and if it hasn't, someone should get on this:

Now that we will all be upgrading to 3g, and many of us are wondering what to do with our old iPhones, i think it would be very cool if someone would design an app that would allow you to use your iPhone (plugged in via USB) as a "mouse pad" of sorts for your mac. You could draw on it, use it as a multi touch input device, etc...

only other thing though, is could you use it as mini touch external monitor? thats the only thing that that app doesn't do...
