Hey there guys, so the programs are popping all over the place.
I for one say this is one of the best ones easier to add custom ring tones.
Unfortunately it is only for windows. But having an Intel Mac will not be a problem.

This Program lets you add and create ringtones for your iPhone right on your desktop.
Will add them for you and will work 100%! No Hacks, No anything.

The program is called iPhone Ring Tune Maker
http://www.iphoneringtonemaker.com
for 9 bucks you can get the full version and will also be able to download a trial version of this program.

Let me know what you think...

Seen that there was a free trial demo, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Took me all of 2 minutes to install to ringtones I had lying around that I used on my last phone! Didn't require jailbreak, typing of commands, nothing. I opened up an mp3 ringtone I had, adjusted the settings and it made the ringtone and sent it straight to my phone. A simple power off and back on and there it is!

I threw on my ctu and crank ringtones ;).

For anyone that has used this Im having an issue..

I have windows vista and trying....I usually use my mac book pro so dont have itunes on my windows vista machine...Do I need Itunes for this program to work....I have created an MP3 but when attempting to transfer its not noticing my iphone...It states I need to dock it...I have it on my dock and iphone is noticed by windows vista machine but is there something IM missing

I just downloaded the trial. It is awesome & so, so easy!! Thanks for the link!

I did mine on vista too. I also use itunes on that machine. I added the ringtones right after I synced my iPhone. Open the task manager and go into the services area. See if you have a service called apple mobile device. I believe that service is required, because if it's not running, not even iTunes won't recongnize the phone. Windows by default will only recognize the phone as a camera and iTunes is required to get the rest of the required files to enable actual communication for things like adding songs and videos and everyhing else.

A simple download of itunes to get the necessary services up and running might be the ticket.

just currious, but are there any risks involved in using this software? I would hate to turn my $600 iphone into a brick by using a $9 program. :)

how does the trial work? does is make a sound over your ringtone so you know its a trial or something?

doesn't work for me...running xp in parallels.. do i need vista ? says no iphone connection found...

People do this with Apple and Windows users all the time, in the form of automated "maintenance" programs or AppleScript programs. In many cases it requires a few Terminal commands, but people happily spend 10 to 20 dollars on a lot of maintenance programs for OS X. People pay money for ease-of-use, even if the capability is free or already on their machines.

The interface looks simple to use and interesting. Personally, I'll stick with my method of "typing in those arduous commands and painstakingly editing my audio files in Quicktime Pro/Audacity." But I can see the merits of this application, so kudos for abstracting the process. :)

Personally I think it should be free, as that would be keeping in spirit of the original work from which this was derived. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though, considering the site is charging $4.95 for "wallpaper packs." ...

It's the full program to my knowledge. The difference being the trial can only be used 3 times or 5 days, which ever comes first.

Downloaded, booted up windows on Macbook Pro, installed song, rebooted iPhone and worked, just as advertised. Pretty slick. Program wouldn't recognize iPhone until I installed iTunes, but then it was easy as can be. Only problem is song as ringtone sounds pretty bad through speaker....

Does anyone know if there is a way to delete some of the ringtones that we made from this program?

Apply EQ to it, reduce the lows at about >100hz to a full clip at >50hz.

This program works perfect!!! I am running Vista on a brand new Dell. Installed the trial. I put my 3 free ringtones on my iphone that I had from my old phone in less then 1 min. So I paid for the full version. After spending $650 on the iPhone why not another $10. You can Delete songs after you put them on your iphone.

The only thing I was not happy with is that the song volume fades up into the song. But that is a Iphone issue.

I just used it last night and I am surprised at how easy it is to use you can re-edit and delete ringtones by the way and it reloads them for you or removes. Dont understand why there is not a program like this for mac  the one that people have to use requires jailbreak and thats no fun this is as easy as pie. if you have a intel mac I would strongly recommend this program

You can turn off the fading before your create and upload the ringtone. Click on the advanced button (or whatever it's call, can't remember) and uncheck the fade in and fade out.
