what happen to my iphone two years from now if I decide not to continue with ATT? Will I still able to use all the iphone features except the phone part?

at the very worst, i'm sure you could move to a pay-as-you-go plan and use the iphone without the phone features. but who knows? in two years, the ipod might be able to do everything the iphone can minus those phone features.

Given how my luck is I would have to say something more like...

If I haven't broken my iPhone in 2 years what will I do with it? Given in a year most of us will buy a new phone even if it's a iPhone upgrade.

If you spent $599 plus tax for a iPhone chances are you'll be doing it again in a year with the newest iPhone or gadget that comes along.

another 600 bucks plus +$100 service fee? Now I see what is Jobs' strategy... I will try to stick to my current one for at least two years.

I will definately be sticking with my iPhone for 2 full years, then buying the new iphone then. I spent $1357 yesterday buying an iphone for my girlfriend and I, which included a deposit of $150 a line because I just turned 18 and have no credit. What an impulse purchase that was... but well worth it imo

My guess is that Apple will introduce some very exciting new iPhones by then and it will be hard not to give mine to a family member and upgrade before then. Remember we are on iPhone 1.0 and Windows Mobile just released 6.0.
This is really hard for me to say since I am one of those Windows Fanatics. Of course Windows 7 or 8 will probably add a lot of the features now in iPhone 1.0. So if Apple for some reason does not move forward, who knows.

sucks for me

lmao!

I do find it hard to belive most of us will keep our iPhones two years. Given most of us bought them the first day they came out. We are either self professed gadget or mac geeks I believe most of us will either move on to the next thing that betters the current iPhone and hand it down or the current iPhone we have will be turned into a wifi iPod.

I know that if my iPhone could be modded to another network or 3g comes out I would move to another network in a hear beat.

That's a rather..ahem...personal question :D:D:D

LOL she's not going anywhere.. if there was a doubt I wouldn't have bought her the phone. I was dying for one and we each had verizon plans with our parents and if I wanted to go to ATT I had to take her with me because of the texting/free talk because in the fall I'll be starting college (still living at home) but we'll be in different schools and we texted alot when we were in the same high school last year, and I can only imagine how much it will be this year. Back on track, I took her to the cingular store and she hated all the phones because nothing compared to the stupid Chocolate she had. So in order to get an iPhone, I had to bribe her with one too.. :p

I know how it may seem reading that, but she's not at all needy or self-centered about ANYTHING she just loved her LG Chocolate so I got her an iPhone. We've been together for over a year plus I just took on a flash job worth twice what I paid so I figured I'd splurge.

Many have been speculating about when iPhone version 2 will be released. I just realized part of the answer to that question could very from your post.

It will be released less than 24 months of June 29, 2007 ... so Junish 2009ish? if they wait any longer what iPhone will you upgrade to when your contract ends?
