Hi so verizon unlocked my phoen after paying it off, but in the cellular settings, it still lists my old verizon # which i no longer have. How can i get rid of it so phone calls don't default to that (leading to an annoying popup to try the next eSIM)?? do i have to wipe the phoen completely and start over? that would be annoying. what if i just delete network settings, will that get rid of the verizon #/SIM (not sure if it's a physical or eSIM).

Thanks muchly!

Thanks. The new number is already displayed in Settings > Phone (no number listed in Settings, general, about). But when looking at contacts in the phone app i still see: "last used: "
factory unlocked Verizon" (unavailable) >
These contacts, many I have already clicked their phone #, to which i get a popup that reads: "last line no longer available. Do you want to call using your remaining line?" i select "Call' (the other option being 'Cancel')" and yet after a few days to a week or so after this, the last line no longer available error will appear again, and I'll have to go thru this same routine.
What if I reset network settings, will that wipe previous Verizon information? Or do I have to restore from an iCloud backup? Or just start with a fresh wipe of the phone and rebuild everything manually? Sorry I am at a loss for what else to try. Thank you!!

Have you tried resetting the network settings with your new SIM card (non-Verizon) installed?

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

I have not. I thought about doing it though...I am not using a physcial SIM but an eSIM with the new carrier, so will resetting network settings still have an effect with me using an eSIM? I know several other things will be 'reset' so I don't want to do it unless it actually helps solve the issue. Thanks!

No it won’t reset the eSim. It only resets the network configuration like wifi (you will need to re enter the wifi password again).
