Other iPhone Upgrade Program: a question

I am not currently part of the iPhone upgrade program and would like to enroll for the upcoming iPhones. I would like to know how I can go about this such that I can ensure a launch day phone as I am aware I need to join the program in store. What should I be doing on Friday? Is it even possible to secure a launch day phone this way?

You can do it from the Apple Store iOS app. It will let you get preapproved for the program, then on Friday all you have to do is submit your order.

So I am on the program but I never went through the preorder process since iPhone 6 days. What do you need to do now? Any idea?
