Bought daughter's iPhone 7 on the upgrade program in UK. Says enrolled 15th Dec 2016.

Obviously am eligible for upgrade but as never done it before what's the process please? (I enrolled originally as is 0% and included AC+ more than thinking of the upgrade bit tbh).

So if upgrading do we hand this iPhone in, and basically start again? Stopping the payments for this iPhone, and start again on the new one? So is it worth it now so late in the eligibility cycle?

What I mean is would it not be better to trade in/sell as looks can get about £240 for it? Then start again or something?

So what's the actual process please for anyone that's done it, I don't get to an Apple store often that's all.

Thanks

I think you should pay it off then upgrade. You can keep your phone then. By now aren't you close to having it paid off? I wouldn't lose this as a back up.

Yes, that's my sort of question I suppose, so I would have to hand the iPhone in, I don't get to keep it after a certain amount of time?

Think only have 1 payment left actually, if it's 20 months so pointless trading/giving Apple the iPhone when it's worth £200+ really isn't it?

Paying it off actually ifi only have 1 payment left will be worse as if AC+ runs until Dec this year I'll still get protection, whereas paying it off, finished the AC+?

When will the AC+ run out? After trying he 20th payment or after 2 years? As bought it in Dec 2016.

I was told (I could be wrong) that if your account isn't paid off you have to turn it in. I do not plan on trading my ipx in as I feel that if I did it would be like I have been renting this phone. I actually still have my 5C and my SE. My grandkids use my 5C (still works great) as a tablet device to watch Disney or youtube. My husband is now using my SE that has a case on that covers the pink.

If you only have one payment then I would pay it off first.

Technically your starting over with a new account but that to me isn't a big deal

You can’t keep the phone until the total amount has been paid off. Upgrading at this point is a waste of money. You have the following options.

- Keep the phone, pay off the rest of the amount and upgrade. For me this is kind of pointless because it’s an iPhone 7 which I hope is working perfectly fine, so upgrade is not really needed.

- Pay off the phone and sell the device yourself. This makes more sense if you really want to upgrade right now because you’re definitely going to make more money than handing it over to Apple.

- Continue to pay your monthly amount and wait until the next iPhone. This makes the most sense to me at this point seeing you’re going to own the device in a couple of months and will also make way more money selling it outside, if you so choose, and put that towards a new device.

If you enrolled 15th December 2016, it’s a 20 month, interest free loan.

This means (I think) that mid January 17 was your 1st payment, which means ( I think), that the phone was paid off in full in June 18, so it’s yours to keep/sell/part exchange.

Think you're right. One more payment, and I presume its mine to keep, and also still have the AC+ until Dec 18 anyway? or does this stop when the last payment is paid?

Pointless trading in, and it'll be worth like £200 anyway. It was supposed to be last one I bought for daughter, but lets see....

I would just sell 7 then buy a new phone if you are wanting to upgrade. But. I would wait til after September for the new iphones

AppleCare+ is a 2 year policy, it doesn’t end early.

Although I think, if you cancel it, you get a pro rata’d refund (hardly worth cancelling now IMO).

I’d sell it now, as you can sel it with the Applecare on it (presumably?).

Just check my status and I'm eligible for X+

Cannot wait for the Sept event!!!!!!
