You know, us iPhone users have been able to brag and be on top of the most wanted gadgets of 2007, but at some point, our precious iPhones might not be so much talked about, especially after September 5th.

I'm not saying i am, but would you start to get jealous if they released something like a iPhone, except better.

opinions.

edit. i meant this to be towards the new iPods coming out that are going to have touch screens and what not. Since those will be cheaper, and will have some features (minus phone and maybe wifi), do you think the iPhone might be less talked about?

I would be jealous of someone who has an iPhone 2G in the future ... but nothing else, really. If it doesn't sync seamlessly with my computer (read: iTunes) then I don't want it anymore.

No, iPhone is amazing as is...plus it syncs with iTunes, which is the end all answer to me.

If it doesn't sync with iTunes, it can't be my main device!

When iPhone 2.0 comes out, I'll want it, and get it at some point.

if by the N95 you are talking about nokia's piece of **** wanna be iphone then no. Apple is not going to release another version of the iphone for quite awhile, the new ipods are going to be sick, but i am still going to love my iphone, I know its the best phone out there, and so do you so i don't think ill be getting jealous any time soon.

edited the first post. sorry i made it sound like i was comparing the N95.

Nope, very happy with my phone.
What pisses me off is how crazy some people get when they see it and everyone wants to touch it and play with it.
Hope this passes by cause its gets annoying after a while.

Wow such hate for the N95! Bad experience? Didn't have a problem with that phone but just wasn't what I needed. Think when the U.S. version launches it will be popular. Only thing that really was a flaw IMO was battery life well and that I couldn't sync with iTunes.

Just wanted to add why would I be jealous of a new iPod? I have a new iPod with a Phone :D

lol, the phone hasnt even been released, and already youre pooping on it?

hope all iphone users arent like you lol

Why would you be unhappy? If anything, the new iPods will simply be updated to more resemble the iPhone, so iPhone owners have nothing to worry about, since they already have the future in their hands

i expect that they should release a widescreen ipod with the touch face but that's it. no wifi or anything else. totally different business and that ipod would be a hit and not necessarily eat away at the iphone market.

eh id like to agree BUT most pmp's have wifi now, i dont know why they wouldnt

It has been released overseas and people imported it.

yea... and? im 99 % sure HE hasnt gotten within 500' of one.

Why do some many people think a new iphone is coming out at this Sept 5 announcement?? The iphone has been out what, just barely 2 months as is??? They arent going to be updating it that soon, thats an absolute certainty.

Shrug...it's "just" an iPod. Granted, it'll be a very pretty iPod, with lots of bells and whistles but if it doesn't have a phone as part of the package, it's pretty useless to me.

No. I'm an adult and spent $600 on my iPhone because it offered me the best combination of features and service for my daily needs. Any technology you buy is already outdated the day you buy it as there's always something new/shinier/better just around the corner. If you worry about things like this I imagine there is no one device that's going to solve your problem.

I take it from your username that you live in Canada too but today I felt bad for this guy who whipped out his iPhone on the bus and eeeeveryone crowded him and it obviously made him uncomfortable

Personally I think that the iPods will be a nice edition, but (ofcourse there is a but) there has been such a high expectation bar being placed on the new generation iPods. This high expectation, especially in the new "touch" iPods I think will just dissappoint many people looking for a device "that is the iPhone minus the phone". Not a very good business model in my opinion.

As far a jealousy goes, I think that I would only be jealous if the iPods would get iChat, copy and paste, etc. and the iPhone wouldn't. Which I don't expect happening because if the new generation iPods did get Wifi it would not have a built in browser. (only for iTunes Store?)

Im not knocking it but I did see the video on engadget and it does look pretty much like a cheap copy of the iPhone. That said the direct upload to Flickr is pretty kick ass.

--Cheers!

The N95 a cheap copy of the iPhone? How does the N95 copy the iPhone? I don't see the connection at all.

Yeah so the N95 has been released. I won't assume or not if the poster has used one. It is just a phone. I don't see why it would be hard to believe. Ohhh well.

Who gives a flying ....

I have an iPhone and my penis is bigger because of it. :p

I've never had a good experience with a Nokia product. And I really don't understand why people have such an affinity for them. The key layouts and form factors some have called "innovative" but I call them counterintuitive and clunky, and there doesn't even seem to be standardization from one product line to the next. I've never grown found of the cheap plastic feel and wear-prone silver paint-on finish that has long gone out style but Nokia clings to. And then there's the Symbian OS. It's nice and all, but it's essentially the Microsoft Windows of the mobile phone market in terms of commonality of malware, and security vulnerabilities. I got tired of the threat of viruses and spyware on my desktop and that's why I'm switching to Mac. Why would I want to start worrying about openly-marketed spyware for my cellphone?

I'll ONLY be pissed if the new iPod has a better calendar program than the iPhone.
