How has your experience been? I'm asking the iPhone crowd specifically because for me, at least, the other syncing seems to work ok. However, the iPhone is the big question mark for me. Sometimes everything pushes, sometimes it does not.

A short while ago pushes stopped to my phone... again. I restarted the phone and then I was getting everything pushed for about 15-20 minutes. Now it's dead again. I'm starting to wonder if maybe the iPhone 2.0 firmware is to blame.

A short while ago, mail seemed to be down for some maintenance or something. Seems to be back up now though as I just finally was able to get on the webmail app again.

Push has been working brilliantly with the iPhone. I get most my messages nearly instantly, and I haven't noticed any email taking longer than 5 min to push to the phone. Server downtime not included.
My Contacts push behavior is pretty much the same as emails.
My Calendar events take a little bit longer to push for some reason.

Contacts app on the iPhone are really slow though. I wonder if it has to do with mobileme or 2.0 firmware. But my .me account works great with the iPhone. All my troubles stems from desktop syncing.

I am still on iPhone v1 (w/firmware 2.0). I started to work with MobileMe this past weekend. Before that I was using Yahoo Push and manually syncing Contacts (Yahoo Address Book) and Calendar (Outlook - really did not use this much) via iTunes. My first test was to start forwarding a copy of my mail to @me.com (also continuing to send to Yahoo). For about a day or so Yahoo would receive the mail faster. After a while they started to be about the same. At some point I decided there was not that much of a difference so I discontinued the Yahoo Copy. Since then 95% of the time my email arrives without delay. I've only had a couple times (that I am aware of) where the mail seemed to stop being Pushed. After that I switch my Yahoo Address Book over to MobieMe (Web Only - no Sync with Outlook). So just Sync with iPhone. I use that for a while while I started to work on getting the Calendar to work. At this point I have it all work very nicely with very little problems.

A couple open issues:

1. If you delete a message on the iPhone it only "tags" it to be Puirged. Outlook shows a line thru it. However MobileMe Web Page still shows it in the InBox. Someone else said that if you delete 1 it deletes the rest. I found that to be true.

2. I would like to be able to have server side InBox Rules. Yahoo Push has Filters which move the messages into a separate folder (not the InBox). The problem is that these folders do not Push. Someone else said that even Exchange has this (InBox Rules on Exchange) but they do not get Pushed. I.E. You have to go into the folder to see if you have messages to be download. I really hope this gets resolved. I have too much email to have it all go into the InBox and then manually separate. I think at a min the iPhone needs a filter/rules feature.

is there away I can get push email set up for a email address I have with them??

Yeah, push to the iPhone seemed to be down for me too an hour ago. Everything is fine now though.

It is still a little suspect for me as me @me.com account went down a little while today trying to send an email on my iPhone from my me.com account

Yes but you have to buy an exchange hosting plan from another company. I use intermedia, it's not really cheap but I like having push for my own domain email address... and I despise godaddy's email system.

For the most part, push from MobileMe has been working pretty well. Contacts and calendars pretty much are instantaneous. Mail is a bit more spotty, but I imagine those are just general hiccups.

With that said, I have my work Exchange account on my iPhone as well, and I get similar results with its mail. It could just be the nature of Exchange, or it could be an issue with the iPhone. We'll see when 2.0.1 arrives, I guess.

Other than the same early on problems MobileMe and iPhone Classic have worked great for me. I consider myself lucky since you read about people having many issues here but even small changes that I make to contacts or events are mirrored on MM and then back to my Mac when it syncs.

Worth the subscription money for me already.

Yes, but indirectly. My company also uses GoDaddy. GoDaddy only support POP3 Accounts (at least the last I checked). In my case I forward a copy of my email to my me.com account which then gets pushed to my iPhone. Prior to MobileMe I used Yahoo Push (free and work quite well). The reason I am considering MobileMe is because I also want OTA Sync of Contacts and Calendar. Or course you can now get an Exchange Hosting Account to accomplish this but it is more expense for me (I need more the 1).

The only problem is the sending of mail from the iPhone using your "from" GoDaddy Address. This has been addressed on this forum many times. The technique I use is to have a dummy pop account using the GoDaddy SMTP Servers. I send from there so it appears my mail comes from my normal email client.
