I really like the flipping album covers for the iPhone. I wish that the iPod could have that. It's a toss-up between bigger storage on the iPod and just cooler features on the iPhone.

Which do you prefer for music (not video since that's unfair) playback?

For just music, I like the nano. Has the nice wheel interface and it's really small & light. :)

I don't know...never used an iPhone. My bet is the iPod will end up similar to the iPhone, so soon it won't be a question(if you want to have the updated product)

I like having my entire music collection with me wherever I go, music for all moods, almost 600 full albums worth and growing, so yeah, iPod. The bigger the better...

And despite what some might say, 256AAC sounds noticeably better than 128AAC on my Shures... except my iPod is currently broken.

Am playing the 'should I wait' game at the mo... 80gb 5.5 gen or new 100gb 6th gen come 3rd quarter?

The iPhone isn't attractive enough to me. Think a 2nd or 3rd gen model might be for me depending on price/features especially for the UK market. My Sony-Ercisson is pretty good at what I bought it for: i.e. making phone calls.

Yep- it's only a matter of time.

It will be nice when the iPhone comes out though- right now I have an iPod video and a shuffle- I use the video for the car and travelling and the shuffle for the gym and sports. Once I get the iPhone, I can bring tha tto the gym instead of the shuffle- which is nice since I also never bring my phone to the gym.

But the point is that the iPhone has the flipping album covers thingey and the iPod doesn't. I feel very bad esp. loving that bigger screen ya know?

it might become a question of capacity. but in terms of features, i agree; i expect the iPod to become a phone-less iPhone a few months after the iPhone's release.

I hope so. The iPhone has a lot of cool features but the GSM thing don't work for me...neither does the price....neither does the fact that you just know that iPhone Rev.B will be out a year later and sport way better stuff, more space, more this more that...

But am I the only person in the universe who only uses my cell phone to call/txt message?

I agree, Apple will probably be releasing ipods with coverflow and widescreens, it just a matter of time. As far as the disk space on the iPhone it would be nice if you could WiFi into your itunes library and download or stream new playlists and such. That would be almost like having your whole library with you.
