Not sure if this is the right place to ask but....

No matter what I cannot get my iPhone 6 plus video to upload on YouTube as full screen. I take the video in landscape mode and it still shows up super narrow online.

I would like my iPhone video to look something this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXf72HepxLY

Yes it does.

How do I get my video to look like that online? When I shoot my video I get huge black borders on each side.

Video seem pretty fast, is it normal speed?

I don't think that's his video. I think he was using it as an example of how he wants his videos to upload (landscape) but he said his are uploading in portrait orientation. He wasn't really clear on the video link.

Another possibility is that he is holding the phone in portrait orientation when he presses record and THEN turning the phone sideways as its recording. The video will default to whatever orientation you hold the phone in at the start.

Sorry for any confusion. That is NOT my video. I was wondering how to get video close to looking like that since mine is terrible.

My landscape lock might have been on which screwed things up. I turned it and it was in landscape mode when taking video, but didn't end up that way.

Does emailing the video reduce the quality? How do you get true HD video? Mine always looks 480.

When you play it back and it's not in landscape orientation, is the scene in proper orientation itself or do you have to turn your head sideways to view it properly? If you get what I'm asking.

I believe emailing does reduce the quality of the video (not 100% sure on that) as well as puts a limit on how long the clip can be.

Try uploading to YouTube directly from the video clip in the photos app for full HD and note that the quality you see on YouTube may not be full HD until they actually process it on their servers. How long that takes depends on how long the clip is.
