iPhone Video Resolution (same as iPod?)

Anyone know what the specs will be for the new iPhone? Will it play iPod videos or will it be yet another resolution?

The screen dimensions are 480px x 320px. That is, indeed, different from the current iPod's 320 x 240, and all the common AppleTV formats.

I believe that we'll see a mix of upscaled and native iPhone videos for a while. Eventually, video iPods will follow iPhone's screen dimensions, so we'll probably have a "mobile" format, and a "TV" format.

Even iPod videos vary: different codecs, old vs. new iTMS res, widescreen vs. 4:3. iPods can handle a bunch of different resolutions, and iPhones can too (with the added ability to zoom-to-fit on demand).
