hey guys trying to get iphone but not pay 599/699 anyone know any legit sites to buy one at a good price you know like the normal 199/299 price...if so let me know thanks...

no such thing. if you want one off contract you either have to pay the full unsubsidized price or buy one off of someone.

Try to find one to buy on Craigslist, or set up a trade. Ebay is a good place to look for "broken" iPhones where people are just to lazy to restore them properly on their computer, and are selling them as broken when they are actually perfectly fine. Keep an eye out for those auctions.

$599/$699 IS the normal price. The $199/$299 is the subsidized price. Anything else is a scam. :)

not true. at all.

i traded for mine - just look on eBay and craigslist there buddy.

Um, no. :) I'm talking about a store price where you walk in and buy it as the OP was looking for a legit place to buy. Can you get a iPhone 3G cheaper without a contract on craigslist, eBay, etc? Perhaps, but most likely not new.

well i been looking on craigslist pretty expensive or if its not its not new, i have a G1 right now and want the iphone 3g i know tmo-3g does not work with the 3g iphone so im still kinda debating if i should get or not if i do get one i wanna get a new one i can unlock it myself just want new for a good price...

also untrue. there are many stores that list on craigslist for more publicity. especially with iPhones. which is why craigslist is so hard to navigate with all the spamming done. sometimes you can find a good deal. craigslist is legit - as is eBay.

saying you can't find a new iPhone on craigslist/eBay is also naive. i bought mine sealed in a box from an AT&T store manager. activating it over iTunes couldn't have been easier.

and yeah the reason craigslist is expensive is for the most part, the people who use it are afraid to use eBay (or simply don't feel like setting it up).

what i (and most people i know who make a substantial amount of money over CL) do is list on Craigslist for 2 weeks at a higher price than the average eBay listing goes for... that way if it sells great, i made more money and avoided eBay/Paypal fees... if it didn't sell, then oh well i still make a profit.
