Hey all.

I'm new to iPhone development. I came up with an idea for an iPhone application and created an iPhone web app. However, I eventually want to make it into a native app. Unfortunately, this will take some time because I am currently unfamiliar with the SDK.

Is it wise for me to release my web app before starting work on the native app? Is there any chance that someone will steal my idea and create the native app themself, or is that somehow protected against?

Thanks for the help. Any input is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,
Ben

Yeah, sure go ahead and make the web app public. Someone can steal your idea, but they can do that anyway. And no, there is no way to protect from people stealing your idea.

If you make an unpublished web app, then make a single site browser app for the iPhone just to your webapp at first, and say an update is coming when you can, that will give u a native app just from the web app. Those apps are really easy to make, with tons of tutorials online!

Wow! That's a great idea, thanks!

Are there any downsides to make the native app in this fashion at first?
