iPhone wifi syncing

Hello.

I want to sync my iPhone through wifi... Yeah, I am very late to the party, but I decided to get with the times.

I was wondering if there are any possible known issues related to wifi syncing, and any precautions I should take. For example, I heard someone got his/her iPhone bricked after wifi syncing was interrupted (this is actually what scared me, and made me stay away from wifi syncing...). Also, has there ever been an issue that affected the computer, not just the phone?

Also, how fast does it transfer data? For example, how long would it take to import 100 songs on 100mbps 5ghz internet connection?

I just tried interrupting a sync by removing the cord half way through. Nothing happened to me and no apps or songs were placed on my iPhone.

Time to sync = size of 100 songs / 100mbps

That's the minimum time you could achieve

Thanks for the reply. But I have heard of people having issues with wifi syncing, so I would like to hear from those who tried it for awhile now.

I have interrupted sync on my iPhone many times, never with any detrimental side effects, I have also driven away from home while it was wifi-syncing and nothing happened either.

Not that I've ever read, never had a problem first hand.

Interrupting a sync does nothing wifi or cable it'll just restart when triggered to do so. The only time you would run into an issue is if you were doing a restore and removed the cable. Even then the device wouldn't be bricked. It takes a lot to actually brick an iOS device.

Because others had issues doesn't mean you will - just saying!

And because others are not experiencing doesn't mean I won't either. Even if one person in 100 experienced this, that would be enough for me to be alert. I want to be very cautious, and be ready as to what to do when something goes wrong.

I'd assume that any bricking occurred due to interrupted updates rather than interrupted syncs.

the iPhone 5s was incapable of connecting at 5ghz at the top speed of 300 mbit. so don't expect it. i think it was 65 mbit tops at 5 ghz. anything faster requires 2 x 2 spatial streams which is in the newer iPhones. but i don't have a 5s on me to check

I've had wifi problems like it forgetting the iPhone or the iPhone not knowing where the iTunes computer was. and i would have to get the cable. but lately its been pretty reliable. some of of the time when i try to click on backup. the iOS device just disappears, and gets ejected and it won't connect to it ever again until i use the lighting cable
