IPhone will end some day... right?

I know it's not a fun thing, for most at least, to think ahead and realize that all great things end. So I thought about the place and time when the IPhone will finally be over and a new thing will replace it, but I had trouble.

I just wanted to bring up the question, how long do you think it will take before we will see the IPhone become obsolete? When? How? What will take it's place?

I myself am having trouble thinking of something which would replace it. Will it just become more and more advanced over time, or will one true device replace it?

Just wanted to hear other people's thoughts about this.

minority report is probably what will happen, they had funky multitouch system and what not.

as for when? well in 1980's and earlier man/hollywood predicted space stations and deep sace travel (travel between galaxies) and look at where we are now, man hasnt even been to mars, automated satelites have but thats it.

i think it will be some time yet before the phone is obsolete but then again only time will tell.

Haha, that's true.

Space travel and all that.
Just look at some movies too, early Terminator movies, IRobot, all that predicts what will be of the future. I guess some do it to make fun of our own predictions too. Minority Report would be nice for real life.
 
My opinion:

Apple will not stop making the iPhone until they see no remaining capital or benefits from making them.
 
If it doesnt evolve and improve over time something better will come along to replace it.
Just like with everything else.
But the iphone is/was a game changer in the cellphone industry.
Hope the next new thing years down is as easy and simple to use as the iphones GUI.
 
The iPhone will not end until phones have FULL OSs. Then the Iphone will be called the iCarry or iPocket and will load with OSX Eagle. Other devices will have Windows 2015 or a desktop OS of Android 8. Nokia will not be phones anymore, but rather just top of the line cameras.

By then, pockets will be 20" wide.
