Hi guys,

Just got my my first Mac and I love it. I connected my iPhone (set up on the windows machine) and want the contacts and calendars to sync to the mac. It no longer needs to sync to the windows machine.

Seems like I should just be able to dock it, and choose merge in iTunes. However, I don't get that option. It shows up in iTunes but when I try and sync it seems to hang on 'syncing contacts'.

Any thoughts? I haven't tried syncing music yet because I wanted to make sure everything else was working first. How do I drop my PC and make my iPhone and Mac friends?

Thanks!
-Scott

IIRC I read here somewhere that you need to add one contact into Address Book in your Mac and one iCal item. Then when you sync all the info on your iPhone will go into your new iTunes.

I backed up all my music from my Vista laptop and used that to add to my MacBook iTunes.

Thanks - I had tried that after seeing it on the board. Still no dice.

I did notice one odd thing... When I click the 'sync selected calendars' radio button, I see 'home' and 'work', however those aren't the names of my calendars in iCal (I had renamed them). Am I not looking at the correct instance of iCal?

Whoops...user error...

There was a dialog box that popped up behind iTunes alerting me that > 5% of my contacts would changed. I tended to that and all worked great.

Thanks!
