I have just got an Iphone and when trying to connect to the Internet at home it can see my Router but when I input the Password it wont allow me to connect to it. I have a Zyxel P-660HW Router and have other Computers connected wirelessly no problem. I have tried going in and changing the Key in the Router then it encryptes the word so I have tried both in the Iphone the word and the encryption and still nothing works. Hope someone can help as getting very frustrated and dont really want to buy a new router.

Have you tried to disable the encryption? Also any letters in the key, if so try to capitalize them...if that doesn't work you could also try using all numbers like your 10 digit cellphone number or house number for the key. good luck.

Hi Thnaks for advice. Do you have any idea how to disable the Encyption and if I do this does it mean that my System is less secure without Encrytion. Sory if this sounds a bit thick but I run a Business from Home so cant take any chances :)

You have to get into your router's settings page, you know where you put the password. Just uncheck WEP or WPA2 or whatever your encryption is. And yes your system would be less secure without encryption....because you would have no security then.

But I suspect what happened is that you did not input the password correctly. Your password is case sensitive, so be very careful. I know because it took me like 5 tries with my iPhone before I got it right, it is easy to make a mistake.

Thanks tried disabling and Iphone connected straight away. Put it back on and changed password tried inputting the word into iphone and the encryption and didnt want to know either. Very frustrating. The only thing i can think is that the iphone doesnt recognise the same configuration as the Router. Any ideas :)

No wifi and Clueless in computerland

Hi

My iphone and mac book have decided to stop recognising my home wifi. Imac hooked up to the wire thing at the back :D and working perfectly.

I have reset the iphone network settings to factory.
I have been onto my internet provider who says the wifi in functioning ok but says a lot of mac people are having this sort of problem.

Any ideas?
p.s. pretty limited computer jingo vocabulary :)
