iPhone won't receive incoming calls

Okay, this is really starting to get on my nerves. So I can receive calls from other people within my household, however I asked three different people to call me and when the did it didn't say I had an incoming call. No missed call messages either. One of these people was down the street, one about 5 miles away, and the last about 10 miles away. So I call myapple. They proceed to do network reset, and call me back. When they call back, I do receive the call. They are in Austin, I'm in Houston. Then, the same girl calls my cell and tells me it's beeping, but I get nothing. Should I restore or go into apple? I am under warranty- but not phone support. I don't want them to charge me for myapple, even though there is a glitch in there system right now that allows 1 year instead of the original 90 days. I'm stumped..

What networks are these people on? Distance doesn't matter in the case of cell phones. It doesn't matter where someone is calling "from" other than what company terminates the calls. They shouldn't charge you for a glitch in their system. By the contract they need to actually offer you the service you're paying for.

All parties were on T-Mobile. The At&t people as well as apple people can call me fine. Right now it's off and on, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. A friend has the same iPhone 3G on AT&T and called me from 10 miles away the other day, no missed call/warning at all. Not a big deal to actually take it in? I live 5 minutes from an apple store.

Best bet is always to do a couple of hard resets. The proximity of the callers to you doesn't matter because its really from the tower that is the determining factor, its not like the signal is jumping from their phone to yours. I would try powering down and leaving it off for a few minutes and also remove the sim chip. Not sure if that does anything but it can't hurt right?

had the same problem i would take it to an app store and try to get a new phone
