Hi there, last night my iPhone 3GS said it had no service, then a message came up and said that it had to be restored, so I thought I would just restart it...Once it came on again, it had the connect to iTunes symbol on the screen. So I thought oh well and just connected it to iTunes to restore. When I tried to connect it though, it said that it couldn't because there was some problem with the SIM and it wasn't in properly?!?! SO I took it out and put it back in...still no luck. SO then I tried to hard restore it and it came up with an error....then I tried DFU mode and it came with up with the error again!!! I don't know what to do and I can't get to an apple store for the next three days, does anyone have any advice? Thank you

Sounds like you are getting the dreaded error 23. This is a radio failure and there is no amount of restoring that can fix that.

You got the message that it needed to be restored because when the radios failed, it could not get a signal, so it tells you to restore.

Only thing you can do is bring it to the Apple store for an exchange. I had to do this same thing back in August.
