I'm sorry for the lack of potential info, but I have a colleague that is having an issue with her Iphone not updating at home, she has confirmed that it is plugged in/connected to wifi and has plenty of cloud space.

any ideas on what would cause this? Please let me know if you have any questions that may help, I can attempted to get them answered.

Restarted router?
Restarted iPhone?
Updated iPhone?
What error message?
How much cloud storage left?
Tried on a different wireless router?
Assuming she means an iCloud backup?

I'm curious how long does she had signed into iCloud on the device. I had a friend who could not backup her iPhone through iCloud. After she signed out, she couldn't sign back in since she doesn't even remember her password. However, she eventually got it right after a few tries but greeted with terms and condition. After she accepted it, she was able to do iCloud backup. When you try to sign out, just make sure to select keep all data.

The title to your post says "backup" but the body of your post mentions "updating." Which of these problems is she having?

yes. backing up versus updating the iOS.
but actually, when the poster writes "updating", i actually think s/he is actually talking about syncing.
