Iphone working without ATT

I have been reading on iphonehacks.com that someone has unlocked the iphone and are able to use in euorpe. (Uk from what it seems as well)

Has anyone stateside tried this with an Iphone?

so no "real" proof and charging $100 for it? could be a scam for all you know to just take your money on empty promises.

I think it's a do-it-yourself project.

I believe the $100 is the cost of YOU buying yourself a SIM programmer, plus a blank SIM.

I am certainly not going to try this as I have no iphone and no intention of getting one at this time.

I am just curious if anyone has had the ability to actually try doing this. From what I have read they are going to charge a C note for the hack (Not including the cost of the reader)

Here are the directions if anyone with the means wants to try it. I'd love to know if it works just cause I am currious. Thats all.
