Im going to be traveling a lot to different countries. Does any one know if it works out side of the US like new zealand, oman, india, singapor???

Yes, it's a quad-band "world" phone. If there is GSM in the country it will work. But for now you'll be roaming internationally which cost boo-koo bucks. Check ATT's site for what each country costs per minute. Hopefully after the 30-day "free" cancellation period ends you'll be able to call ATT up and get them to unlock your phone. Then you can buy a SIM card in the country you are visiting and use your phone for cheap. Or you can get an "international SIM," like these <http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/international.html> which cost a bit more, but are more convenient (and still cheaper than ATT roaming rates).

I highly doubt that at&t will offer the same service for unlocking other phones for the iPhone. That option would easily be abused overnight (i.e. eBay, lol)

I really think they're just going to lock people into the Int'l rates and customers will just have to stomach it (which sucks).

I'm guessing that at&t will get around the whole law that basically states that it's not illegal to unlock the phone by saying they aren't exactly obliged to unlock it for you.
