Hello everybody,

my X turned 11 months today and atm. I have 86% of battery capacity. Strangely enough, I've always charged my phone between 20 and 80% and never left it charging over night. For almost a year I'm constantly using a AmazonBasics lightning cable and less common out of the box cable.

Since I'm an active phone user for Spotify, Feedly, Maps etc. it lasts nearly 5,5 hours and then I have to charge it again. Moreover, after each iOS update especially on iOS 12 beta my capacity dropped 1-2% after another beta upgrade or iOS 12 GM.

On iOS 12.0 I had 88% and on 12.0.1 I have 86%. Anybody facing this problem as well?

Cheers.

I would expect 86% capacity after 11 months of heavy use like you’re describing.. I usually charge once a day and I always have at least 30% left. Capacity on my X is 98% after 10 months

a friend of mine is a X owner too and he still has 95% with approx. same usage.

Not sure how many charging cycles (don’t have a Mac) but my launch day X is at 90% on iOS 12 beta 2. I charge 2-3 times a day mainly with my iPad charging block.

Then I can assume that it's mainly being battery quality? Since with each update I lose 1-2% of capacity I don't really see another reason for this.

Bought my X around 11/20/2017. Current battery health 93% of maximum capacity.

Always plugged into a charger from bedtime to morning.

With light to moderate use, I can easily make it through the day with maybe 20% left at bedtime.

With heavy use, I usually don’t make it through the day. For me, that usually isn’t a problem since it’s always charging whenever I’m in the car (CarPlay). When traveling, I bring a small external battery so I don’t have to worry about running out of juice.

Mine's 88% after 10 months, sounds about right. It's my main workhorse and it shows. Just avail of that discounted $29 battery replacement also afforded to the newer models and you'll be set for another year. That's what I'll do in December.

If anyone needs to charge their iPhone X for 2-3 times a day then they’re super heavy user. This is normal IMHO.

That is some heavy usage indeed! I usually start the day with 80% and come home in the evening with about 40% left. My battery has around 190 cycles and 99% capacity left.

7 month old X here. Battery on 100%.

Decided to drain it from 100% for the first time today....from 10:30pm last night, with fairly heavy use (6h16min Screen on, 19min Screen off), including 1h54min phone, 1h57 google maps, 41min mail & Music 5h41min in background.

Ended up lasting 16 hours before phone died.

Here's some interesting data. My iPhone X is 10 months old. Bought 12/24/17. Charged every night on a cheap wireless charger from Amazon. These are the cycle counts at which the battery changed it's level according to Battery Health. (Coconut Battery was used to determine cycle count)

Cycle count-----Battery %
166--------------99
205--------------98
212--------------97

Looks like I'm gonna drop 1% every couple of weeks now after going around 8 months before it dropped it's first 1%. o_O

That’s odd, mine is the same age (release day) and I’ve been charging exclusively wirelessly, unless I’m in the car. I usually have to top off the phone each day. I’m at 97% battery health.

2-3 times, sometimes 1.
There is something wrong with your phone/battery. I used my X all day all last year, and let it charge wirelessly all night, overnight, and the battery health is still 100%. My wife uses it now after getting my Max. Still lasts all day.

What is normal about staring at a screen for basically an entire day? If someone needs to charge their phone 3 times a day they're either a serious workaholic or are addicted to their phone and should seek help. :)
