I'll bite... why is this a bug? Why are you surprised that a wifi connection might be faster at this particular moment in time than a cellular connection?

Its an experiment.i noticed a huge difference in wifi speed not data/cellular.

No discernible difference for me when I tried with & without. It seemed slower with airplane mode.

If I had to guess, I suspect airplane mode disables background refresh and stuff. On very slow Internet connections this might seem like a significant difference due to the newly available bandwidth but it’s not really much different.

Either that or it’s just normal differences that you’d get between speedtests.

Also, maybe wifi assist is turned on? If so, and the os determines wifi is slow, maybe doing some work over cellular? No speed tests, but, have noticed on somewhat slow public wifi but showing all wifi bars, the cellular data counter has ticked up, so, have turned that off until really needed.

And will echo above, have seen wild swings with back to back speed tests. Would get a better idea by running multiple speed test in each mode, to get an average.
