Hey there,

I've been experiencing an issue concerning display brightness with my iPhone X lately.
I've come to notice that sometimes, when the display brightness is set to maximum, the display automatically and abruptly switches to a darker brightness level.
When I go to control center, it still shows maximum brightness, but it definitely is not the brightest level the display is capable of. This happens regardless of the automatic brightness setting being toggled on or off.
Is this some kind of automatic overheating protection or is my device malfunctioning?

Thanks in advance.

It’s working as designed. It’s limiting power to the screen to keep heat and power usage down. It happens more often in warmer ambient temps. All phones work this way to some degree.

And this is exactly where it happened the most. Thanks!
