iPhone X: Exchange Email Lock Screen Notifications

I have an iPhone X and I'm having some odd behaviors with regard to email notifications on the lock screen.

I have three email accounts set up through the stock Mail app: work (Exchange), Gmail, and an iCloud account. Notifications work as expected on the Gmail and iCloud accounts--when Face ID detects I'm looking at the screen, the preview appears. The Exchange account doesn't behave as expected. When the iPhone is locked, I see the notification w/o the preview as expected, but when Face ID unlocks my phone, the notification disappears altogether without showing me a preview.

I've checked and re-checked my settings, and all accounts share the same notification settings. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this with an Exchange account and if they've been able to fix it.
