Apart from the face ID technology and having played with the s9 for some time the iPhone X is just boring (not to mention mention ugly) Apple is slipping and I feel like I'm not going to wowed until they implement edge display or something drastic cause face id isnt enough we need more. Everything is just beautiful on my s9. I like watching movies on my s9 I like typing on my s9, I like reading, listening to music, playing games, the only thing I like on my X is my group chat on imessage. Facetime is even getting full with all these other apps that can have multiple parties on a video conference.

X "feels" superior IMO, but that's ONLY my personal opinion. The bezels are nicer, especially no bottom bezel and the notch is useful as it holds the status bar. Having no curved edges is superior also in MY opinion, I really would hate to see curved edges ruin an iPhone. As a long time huge Samsung fan the curved edges was probably the main reason I don't buy their phones anymore.

Anyhow, it all mainly boils down to personal opinion. Sure I get that this is troll bait, but hey it's a slow day at the office.

LOL. OP, then sell your X. This ain't the oughts. All the smartphones are decent now. I personally feel my X is far superior. That doesn't mean anything objectively, however. Both phones are fine.

Save for the 'long time huge Samsung fan' statement ;), this is my exact sentiment. Curved edges are probably my least liked feature on recent smart phones. Hate the screen distortion and that it makes a skinny device feel even skinnier.

Now that being said, I recently switched back to an iPhone 7 Plus because I don't like those tall and thin aspect ratios. I realize that going forward I'm likely out of luck in this regard but I'll be going 'kicking and screaming' until I no longer have the option. :p

Yeah the plus models feel more advanced than the X to me simply because they are wider. Chop off the top and bottom bezels of an 8 plus and I'd be happy. I guess the Xs-plus will still have that crappy aspect ratio, but at least at 6.5" it will be huge enough to offset it.

Feel wise both are the same - both are make of glass and metal rim - so no different there. But the X feels more meaty due to camera bump :) and rough since you can feel the metal/glass edges. And heavier feeling too.

Design wise, the S9 beats the X hands down with its symmetrical profile. X notch and the camera bump are just downright ugly (from a designer point of view) since design is being sacrificed to accommodate certain physical limitations.

As the world knows the major screen supplier and some components to IPhone X is Samsung. Rumors is that Apple trying to pay $100 to samsung instead of $110 each screen.
And look for more Chinese suppliers for screen, meanwhile LG cannot more enough screens to Apple. That is why your Samsung device is better than apple.

I think the X feels slightly superior to the S9. Key word is "feels". The materials and stainless steel band are really high quality. I would take an S9+ over the X in a heartbeat, though.

My S9 was sitting on a table next to a X. The reflection in the screen of the X was like a mirror whereas my S9 was wobbly and distorted.

I guess it makes no difference to the actual use of the phone, but it's probably a good example of Apple's attention to detail.

First time on a forum? Welcome. :)

I’ve been on a few forums, but this is highly into subjective territory. :p

Boring? Subjective. And is it even a bad thing for a computer OS to be boring?

He wants that infinity edge. He likes watching stuff on his phone, he likes typing on his phone. He loves his Galaxy S9. There is literally nothing to argue against. How am I supposed to argue against “I like a thing, fight me”? Am I supposed to say he’s wrong and that he doesn’t like it? Am I supposed to say “but I like this other thing”?

Good for us, we like things.

Hehe I hear ya, that's why I stopped (mostly) arguing on forums. It always is just opinion versus opinion. :) Although it's obvious this was a troll post so there really isn't anything to add. Are we supposed to change the OP's opinion? Make him feel better about his decision? Invite him out to dinner and drinks and extoll the virtues of his educated process on choosing phones?

What? I don't exactly know what your are saying but I have both and the screen on the s9 is better than the one on the iPhone X. Both when it comes to quality AND viewing angles if that's what you were talking about.

Uhhhh what? LOL. Sorry, I owned both and this is so out there and far from the truth. The s9 is just as smooth as the X.

Let's fight hehe :)

X is a "weakling baby" that needs support of
- an apple TV to do screen mirroring
- iTunes to transfer media/files into phone
- earpiece jack dongle
- 3rd party storage like Dropbox so apps can use files
- Mac hardware exclusively to do continuity and cross sync
- Appstore to download and install apps
- apple built-in apps to function as a phone (aka cannot set default app)
- 3rd party workarounds/jailbreak to inter-operate or connect with the rest of the world
- apple to change battery / hardware repair

S9 is "strong and independent" as it can do all of above by itself.

Here is my opinion.
I had an X for a couple days and for the price I was not impressed. The S9 and S9 plus we’re about $300 cheaper about half the price of an X.
The 2018 model should have some great refrinments.
I do not thing the Samsung is as polished as the iPhone and my go to iPhone would be an 8 Plus currently.
I also like the features of the Watch better on Apple than I do with the android watches.
I like the prices of android products better also.

The MacOS computer I believe is superior than windows computers, the 8 plus does exactly what I want and so does my Note 8.
I do miss Apple Music and the ease of use on the device but the Note gives me a few more options and is a solid device and I like open platform. I also like the fast charging in the Samsung vs. Apple.

So I am really turn between the two but I might as well stick with what I have. Honestly the only 4 things that made me want to switch back to Apple are 1) Apple Watch 2) MacBook Pro 3) Apple Music 4) Ease of Use.
Couple with the fact I have an iPad. But looking back with Apple products I would be at least $600 if not $800 more in items vs. android products.

The hardest part I am having no is my computer decision. I do want to skip out on the Mac and have a windows 2 n 1 with and iPad and a Samsung phone with a google android watch!!

Decisions, decisions, decisions.
