so I recently got an IPhone X but was quite disappointed & shocked at how bad the flash of the rear/camera was. The pics are too dark. The detail is there but the exposure is too low. Used to have an IPhone 7 and the pics I got in low & in well lit environments were brilliantly bright with great exposure. I’m not sure if anyone else has this Problem or if it’s just my specific phone. Not to mention the red eye problem I also get. Weird thing is I used the Instagram camera and did get a couple of bright pics with the camera but whenever I use the default camera all & Snapchat I get those dull pics that make me look like a zombie. I’ve reseted my phone, downloaded the latest update. Nothing. Need some help around here. Contacted apple support & they told me that shouldn’t happen & that I should get it physically checked. So please let me know if you’re having the same issue or not. Might switch it for the 8 or 8 plus as long as that doesn’t have the problem too.

not going to lie. first time i read the headline i saw "iPhone X Fish problem"

I imagine you are having problems with slow sync flash. but don't know if it can be controlled by the user.

I do remember my 7 plus flash being nearly twice brighter than the X. Not sure if it’s the same with the 7.

Also, could be software issue not using correct iso? Idk

on my 7 plus the flash looks brighter and it washes out the image, the iphone X flash is actually brighter than the 7plus but it doesnt need to flash really bright and still the image is alot better all around.i tried it side by side

That's the Slow sync flash. There is a longer exposure before the flash is used. It allows better saturation of the background before locking on the subject on the foreground.

It’s actually a better use of the flash. Flashing everything to be white, pale and overexposed is just a crime. The iPhone X actually has the first usable flash on any iPhone.

I avoided using the flash on any of my previous phones whenever possible. There was never a situation where I felt it added anything to the photo. 99% of the time the “flash” was just a convienat flashlight for getting around the house at night.

I meant as a flashlight, the plus is brighter.

I have the slow sync flash problem too , the slow sync makes the light in background look brighter and sometimes its work in my iphone x somtimes the background got really dark just like the previous iphone.. kinda disappointed with this $1000 phone , the pic below the example of slow sync perhaps this is a software problem ???

Nope. Not mine.

I use iphone x and I believe it comes with slow sync feature that makes the low light picture look great , so the picture below that i took yesterday , the background was actually bright and when i tried used the flash, the background get darker , kinda disappointed

The note 8 and S8 now allows customizable flash brightness levels....didn't notice this until the latest security update came......pretty cool. The iPhone needs this.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, THE FLASH HAS THIS PROBLEM, RED EYES
