I'm not sure what's happening, if it's the Apple iOS operating system and/or the AT&T network, but my "new" iPhone X is going absolutely crazy. It's crashing about once an hour, it's restoring pictures over and over, the apps crash, nothing is working. I've had more problems with this one phone in the past day than all of my Apple products combined for the last five years.

Should I try this (restore iOS):

Try a complete clean install. Restore it and set it up as a new phone. See if it still goes berserk.

I got error 14, a USB problem. I'm using an iMac and genuine Apple cable. I tried again with the Norton firewall turned off and got the same error. Now the phone is stuck in restore mode.

Check App Store and update iTunes since there is an update out today.

After updating, launch iTunes, do a diagnostic test and run all the test with device connected to see if any fails.

Try restoring again.

I was on the phone with Apple Support and they told me to try different computers and USB cables, I did that and still error 14.

One part of the hardware that is the same is the lightning port on your iPhone.
Try cleaning that port carefully. I use an old toothbrush, and take some time brushing on each end of that port, from different angles, etc.
( I also might try an unfolded paper clip, but you have to be pretty cautious when inserting metal objects in that port.)
A toothpick, or a narrow, non-metallic device that can get into the tiny corners can be worth trying. Teeth/gum cleaning tools can do the trick too. I think I have used something called "Plackers".
Hope this helps you!

OP said "new" iPhone X, so maybe just new for him?

@Bushel of Apples: It does sound like a warranty issue. Your iPhone X is less than a year old, and an Apple store should be able to help you with this.

It's fairly new, maybe 4 months old but not 6 months yet. The nearest Apple Store is a 6 hour round trip drive. AT&T told me to request a new phone. I'll have to call Apple Support about that because I'm not driving to the store unless required.

I got my "new" iPhone today, the letter said that it was repaired. What I don't understand is that it included a replacement of the screen saying that it was cracked, but the phone was new and it certainly wasn't cracked. It also has a different serial number. Does this mean that Apple send me a different phone that they had repaired, such as an exchange?

That's strange. If it was repaired, serial number would be the same. I would ask Apple for clarifications.

While items switched is rare, it does happen. People at Apple are still humans and make mistakes. You might wanna check back with them.
