When I turn on my phone screen in the dark, I can see a faint red dot flashing in the left side of the notch as faceID authenticates me. Our eyes can’t see IR so why do I see this, and has anyone else noticed this?

The red flashing originates where the flood illuminator is on diagrams.
Could I just be seeing the 700nm visible red colour on the fringes of the IR spectrum?
