I am considering selling my iPhone X and a friend of mine is asking if it’s unlocked. I told him that ever since the iPhone 5 the Verizon versions are unlocked but he said since March of 2018 Verizon started locking their devices. I had no idea.

Is there any way to tell if my device is unlocked?

I already did and their solution was to put a different sim in. It was the only way he said.

When they were first released. Nov 3rd I believe.

Verizon policy at that time was that LTE phones were unlocked, which is what should apply to yours.

That’s what I’d think too
